Members will in the next few days be receiving in the post the latest Supporters Club newsletter and included in it will an application form from Britannia Building Society, with whom many football clubs have a promotional deal with. In my programme notes for the Swindon Town game towards the end of last season I listed the benefits which are:

• 5% discount in our retail outlets on production of pass book
• One free match ticket on opening the account
• Free piggy bank to paint for Junior savers!
• Other rewards as displayed on the Britannia website from time to time

The football club earns 1% commission based on the daily average balance of all such accounts so this offer is well worth taking up. Indeed this has earned the football club in the region of £40,000!  However, Port Vale have earned 6 times this much so  it just shows what can be done.
